Cancellation closes a trip before service is delivered. Every cancellation carries a reason, and depending on your organization's policy a free-text description as well.

Policy

Administrators set whether drivers may cancel trips themselves, and under what circumstances. The rule is enforced by the platform: when a driver is not permitted to cancel, the app declines the action and explains why rather than appearing to succeed.

Reason codes

The reason is not administrative decoration. It determines how the cancellation is treated in contract reporting and whether anything is billable, and for trips originating from a broker it is what gets communicated back to them.
